How To Withdraw Money From Tradestation
Terms to Withdraw Money From TradeStation
If you have some idle cash sitting in your TradeStation account, you may want to move it to an external bank account to earn some more interest. Here's how to do just that:
ACH Transfers
To move cash from your TradeStation brokerage account to an external deposit account, you first need to log into the client center on TradeStation's website. Make sure you select Client Center from the list of login choices on the broker's website and not one of the trading options.
Once inside the client center, click on Transfer Funds in the top menu. This will bring you to the Deposits & Transfers page. In the left-hand column, you'll see a link that says Manage External Accounts. This is where you can establish a link to an external bank account. If you have a brokerage account with a firm like Fidelity or TD Ameritrade, you can also link your external brokerage account using account and routing numbers from the account's core cash position, which functions just like a bank account.
Once you have your external account linked, now it's time to move some money. To do this, go back to the Deposits & Transfers page and click on Smart Transfer. This is the ACH tool.
On the next page, you'll get the Transfer Cash page. In the first drop-down menu, select the From account, which will be your TradeStation account. In the To account, select the external account you linked in the previous step.
On the ACH transfer form, there is a box you can check that will withdraw all available cash. If that's what you want to do, be sure to check this box. On the ACH transfer form, it's also possible to set up recurring transfers.
Wire Transfers
The process of sending a wire transfer is pretty similar. Just click on Wire Transfer on the Deposits & Transfers page. This will generate the online wire transfer form. The external account you linked for ACH withdrawals won't be populated in the wire transfer ticket. You'll need to link another account for wire transfers. This account could be the same one you established for ACH transfers or another account.
As with the ACH form, the wire form also permits recurring transfers. These could be weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, or quarterly.
Once again, there is an option to withdraw all cash. This feature prevents data entry mistakes from occurring if you want to withdraw all cash.
